Challenge to Russian commodity chiefs

Igor Shuvalov, Russia’s liberal deputy Prime Minister, threw down the gauntlet to the country’s powerful energy and metal lobbies on the 24 March 2009 in an interview with the FT, saying several years of low commodity prices would help to create a more modern economy.
