Central Europe’s battered currencies rallied on the 23 February 2009 after four of the region’s central banks (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania) issued co-ordinated statements calling recent currency weakness unjustified and raising the possibility of intervention on foreign exchange markets.
