David Cameron, United Kingdom Prime Minister, presented on the 25 June 2015 the first formal presentation of the UK's calls for EU reform to all the EU Member States during a working dinner of the European Council held in Brussels, 25-26 June 2015. However, with the agenda of the summit meeting dominated by the Greek debt and Mediterranean migrant crises, time was limited for leaders to consider the UK's proposals. The next steps in the UK's efforts would be 'technical discussions' on the substance of the issues. The BBC reported that Mr Cameron had accepted there would not be any change to the EU's treaties to accommodate Britain's demands ahead of the planned referendum in the UK. Separately, on the 24 June 2015, as part of a European Commission senior management reorganisation, Jonathan Faull was appointed by the Commission to head a Brexit Taskforce. |
