Business warns EU against class action suits

On 13 March 2007 the European Commission adopted a 'Consumer Policy Strategy' for the years 2007-2013. Business leaders warned Europe against following the US down the route of class action lawsuits the Commission stepped up calls for consumers to gain the right of 'collective redress' against companies that rip them off or provide defective goods and services.
