The European Commission has adopted a proposal for a Council Directive on 11 July 2001 on conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of paid employment and self-employed economic activity. At the same time a method for monitoring the development of national immigration policies shall be introduced as a step towards a common immigration policy. |
