Brussels heeds the need to open up to its citizens

Preview of a White Paper on European Governance presented by the European Commission on 25 July 2001. It is suggested that proposals will be made on the speeding up of legislation and more consultation in formulating policies. They will be based on the five principles of openness, participation, accountability, effectiveness and coherence.
