Brussels drops standards probe

The European Commission has closed its investigation of the European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute (ETSI), after the body agreed to tighten its rules on intellectual property rights. The Commission had launched its investigation over concerns that the rules governing intellectual property rights at the Institute were too loose to prevent cases of 'patent ambush'.
