Briton to head development bank

The Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development elected at the EBRD's annual meeting on the 18 May 2012 senior UK civil servant Sir Suma Chakrabarti as President of the EBRD for the next four years, from 3 July 2012. He replaced Thomas Mirow, the President since 2008.
