During its Presidency of the European Union, July-December 2005, the United Kingdom will make the drive to manage illegal immigration one of its key priorities. UK Home Secretary Charles Clarke outlined plans on 26 May 2005 to sign agreements with Russia, Ukraine, Morocco and China to take back migrants who have entered the EU illegally.
