Blair would be ‘happy to take Britain into the euro’

In an interview with the BBC's 'Newsnight' programme on 15 May 2002 the UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, said that he would be happy to be remembered in history as the Prime Minister who took Britain into the euro, and the decision was getting 'close'.
