Blair set to give ground on European integration

Preview of a meeting between the UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair and Giscard d'Estaing, Chairman of the Convention on the Future of Europe on 30 January 2003. During their meeting it is anticipated that Mr Blair will confirm that Britain is willing to consider a raft of measures about which his government had previously been thought to be sceptical, such as the extension of majority voting in foreign policy and the election by MEPs of the President of the European Commission.
