Blair presses stronger EU role

In a landmark speech at an event in Cardiff on 28 November 2002 Tony Blair, the UK Prime Minister has set out the government's vision on the future of Europe. Mr. Blair called for a stronger global role for the EU along with more majority voting to prevent paralysis in an enlarged Union and a President of the Council to replace the current system of 6 monthly rotating presidencies between the countries of the EU.
