Blair prepares to host crisis talks on immigration

The UK Prime Minister Tony Blair hosted a cross-departmental summit on 6 April 2004, the first in a series of meetings held by Mr Blair, on the issue of immigration controls. There is growing Government concern that the perceived loss of control over immigration and adverse press reports will affect the Labour Party badly at the next UK General Election.
