Abstract:

This work needs little introduction, this being the fourteenth edition. It continues the tradition of earlier editions, bringing together an updated selection of Community primary and secondary legislation which is the subject of frequent reference, and appropriately included in this reference work for the use of students of Community Law and others who come into contact with it.

Features of this edition are:

+ In the Institutions section, the guidance note for preliminary references has been included, and the old Statute on the Court of Justice has been removed
+ In the Free Movement of Persons section, the proposed general free movement directive which will form the basis for forthcoming EC legislation has been included, and the increasingly discussed Posted Workers Directive has also been added.
+ In the Social Policy section, the amending Directive 2002/73 on equal treatment and Directive 2002/74 on worker protection have been added
+ Regulation 1/2003 has been added to the Competition section, replacing Regulation 17 (although this has been retained in this edition as it remains in force until 1 May 2004)
+ The new General Product Safety Directive has been added to the Consumer Protection section
+ An updated section of seven directives on Intellectual Property and Information Technology has been re-introduced.
