Report of a speech by Liam Fox, United Kingdom Secretary of State for International Trade, at the Graduate Institute in Geneva on the 20 July 2017, which highlighted the importance of free trade to the global economy.

He set out the opportunities for the global economy from trade after the UK leaves the EU. He called for further liberalisation of the services economy and for a rejection of protectionism, and also outlined that Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are not the only way to remove impediments to trade.
