Berlusconi surges in polls ahead of February election

EurActiv reported that Italy's centre-left coalition, led by Pier Luigi Bersani, had a comfortable lead in opinion polls in January 2013, less than two months before the general election, but Silvio Berlusconi's party was fast raising its share of the vote, according to a poll published on the 6 January 2013.
