Berlusconi coalition seizes on Prodi’s tax proposals

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's ruling coalition has attacked a proposal from opposition leader Romano Prodi to increase some types of capital gains tax, and hopes this will give the coalition the edge needed to gain ground to win the Parliamentary Election on 9 April 2006.
