Article reports that the German government was planning to ban the naked short selling of all German stocks listed on the country’s exchanges in a sweeping enlargement of the contentious bar on the naked short selling of some securities that was imposed on the 18 May 2010. On the 2 June 2010 the German cabinet agreed measures to block speculative naked short selling of German stocks and eurozone sovereign bonds, but it stood back from an instant ban on euro currency derivatives. |
