Belgians just love Billy’s sweet irony

Much-maligned Belgium has had its fair share of knockers, grumbling about everything from dirty pavements and suicidal drivers to grumpy shopkeepers. But the nation which plays host to many of the Union's institutions clearly does not let the detractors get it down. Callers to the EU mission in Brussels who are put on hold are treated to pop star Billy Joel belting out what should become the Belgian signature tune: “I love you just the way you are.”
