Battling the Couch Potatoes. Hungary Introduces ‘Fat Tax’

In an effort to address rising obesity rates and health care costs, Hungary on the 1 September 2011 implemented a law imposing special taxes on foods with high fat, salt and sugar content. The move comes as other European countries also consider policies to fight obesity.
