Barroso weighs in on justice chief

José Manuel Barroso, European Commission President, has insulated himself from potential fresh embarrassment at the hands of Silvio Berlusconi, April 2008, by denying the incoming Italian premier the right to nominate the EU Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner.
