Deutsche Welle published in February 2015 a feature on Portugal's economic performance after it successfully concluded its bailout programme.

While government and some economists praise the country's evolution and positive signs of economic recovery, some other stakeholders state that social implications are much wider than apparently visible.

Portugal had announced earlier in the month it was preparing for an early repayment of a part of the financial assistance received from the International Monetary Fund. This was discussed during a Eurogroup meeting on 16 February 2015.
