The Greek prime minister’s commitment to doing 'whatever it takes' to rescue the economy is still broadly supported, despite the public-sector pay freeze announced in February 2010, opinion polls indicated on the 7 February 2010.

A poll published in the Kathimerini newspaper found that George Papandreou’s approval rating over his handling of the Greek debt crisis stood at 55%.
