Audit chief makes fierce attack on EU accounts

In a leaked memorandum, obtained by the Financial Times, the European Commission's own internal audit chief, Jules Muis, has fiercely attacked the Commission's 'rudimentary' accounting control systems and claimed the final accounts left it open to 'a high level of reputational risk'.
