At the initiative of Raymond Forni, President of the French National Assembly, the Conference on the Future of Europe took place in the Palais Bourbon, Paris, on 7 and 8 November 2001. The aim of the conference was to facilitate a discussion on the future structure of Europe among elected members of parliament and civil society.
