Julian Assange, founder of the whistleblowing site WikiLeaks, was on the 2 November 2011 left to consider whether to concede defeat in his protracted legal battle against extradition to Sweden or attempt a costly new challenge at the UK’s Supreme Court.

Two High Court judges resoundingly rejected his appeal against the February 2011 ruling that he must be removed to Sweden to face questions about alleged sexual offences.

Subsequently in May 2012, Julian Assange lost his UK Supreme Court fight against extradition.
