The 2007 EUISS Annual Conference took place on 22-23 November 2007 at the Centre de Conférences Internationales (CCI) in Paris and had as its theme 'Effective Multilateralism – Engaging with the New Global Players'. Its centrepiece was the keynote speech by Javier Solana, EUHR, outlining developments in the EU's Foreign and Security Policy. The premise underlying the conference was that the international order is experiencing great change and that, to deal with global problems, the European Union will increasingly have to work with emerging global powers such as China, India, Brazil and Russia as well as regional actors such as South Africa. |
