Announced delay of the electoral process in Somalia

A statement on behalf of the European Union was released on the 30 September 2016 on the announced delay of the electoral process in Somalia. The Somali Federal Indirect Election Implementation Team had announced a further one month delay of the electoral calendar, with the election of the new President to now take place on the 30 November 2016. This is already a second extension going beyond the constitutionally mandated term limits.
