UK's Home Secretary Theresa May announced on the 22 July 2014 that an inquiry would be held into the death of the Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko.

Mr Litvinenko, a former KGB officer, died in 2006 in a London hospital after he was allegedly poisoned with radioactive polonium.
