Airline investment fears as emissions deal agreed

Airlines in Europe and elsewhere warned that investment could be pruned back after the European Parliament gave their go-ahead on the 8 July 2008 to a European Commission proposal forcing the industry to start paying for greenhouse gas emissions in four years. The proposal now awaits a vote in the Council of the European Union
