Airbus narrows field of bidders for sell-offs

Airbus report on the 24 September 2007 it had narrowed the field of bidders for several of its manufacturing sites in the UK, France and Germany from 11 to five. The sell-off is key to Airbus’s efforts to reorganise its manufacturing operations around Europe. It is seeking to dispose of six or seven of its 17 sites to cut costs and spread the capital risk of future aircraft development programmes.
