Airbus looking for launch subsidies for A350 by June

In a move that will antagonise the US, Airbus announced on 19 May 2005 that it expected four European governments to grant state aid for its A350 aircraft by mid-June. Under the terms of a January 2005 agreement between the US and the European Union, both parties agreed they would make 'no new government support commitments for the development or production' of aircraft. This agreement, however, lapsed in April 2005.
