After TV5, Paris fears new cyberattacks on media

The French government called on media to remain 'vigilant', following a cyberattack claimed by jihadists from ISIS which blocked French international channel TV5Monde for several hours. They were able to seize control of the television network founded by the French government in 1984, simultaneously hacking 11 channels as well as its website and social media accounts.

Authorities warned that similar attacks could happen again.

France’s culture minister also called for an urgent meeting of French media groups to assess their general vulnerability to hacking.
