Advancing long-term prosperity: Economic reform in an enlarged Europe

This report examines the progress made in European economic reform since the March 2000 Lisbon European Council, noting both the EU's achievements in the four years to 2004 and the scale of the challenge ahead. It also represents the UK's contribution to the Spring European Council of 25-26 March 2004 in Brussels, at which EU Heads of State and Government were due to discuss progress in economic reform.
