Adoption of simplified rules for the fruit and vegetable sectors

The European Commission adopted on 13 March 2017 a delegated regulation simplifying the rules applying Regulation No 1308/2013 with regard to the fruit and vegetables sector. This decision followed a two-year review of the Regulation as part of the Better Regulation initiative.

The proposed rules provide a simplification and clarification of the legislation with regards to transnational producer organisations and their associations. They also provide an increased support for market withdrawals and greather attractivity of Producer Organisations (PO).
