Adoption of non-legislative resolution on equality between men and women in the EU (2014-15)

The European Parliament's plenary session adopted on 14 March 2017 a non-legislative resolution on equality between men and women in the European Union for 2014 and 2015.

The resolution based on the report calls for the EU and its member states to step up their efforts to achieve equality between the two genders. Despite the progress noted by the resolution, it also highlights that much remained to be done to reduce pay gaps, remove 'glass ceilings' blocking women's careers, remedey their lack of economic independence and improvide their work/life balance.
