Adoption of conclusions on further EU-NATO cooperation

These conclusions relate to the implementation of the Joint Declaration by the President of the European Council, the President of the European Commission and the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Background information:

This document follows up on other sets of conclusions approved in December 2016 and June 2017 on defence cooperation between NATO and the European Union. The Joint Declaration promoting EU-NATO strategic partnership was adopted in July 2016 in response to global security challenges.

This set of conclusions was adopted as NATO Foreign Ministers held a meeting on 5-6 December.

The Council of the European Union adopted on 5 December 2017 a set of conclusions on EU-NATO cooperation, endorsing common set of new proposals for further joint work.
