Addressing Europe’s employment crisis: what policies for recovery and reform?

Unemployment in the EU is forecast to soar above 10% in 2010, while recovery is projected to be fragile for a number of years. European policy-makers are facing a tall order with an employment crisis and substantially deteriorated public finances. In the run-up to extraordinary summit on Growth and Jobs on 11 February 2010, this timely Policy Brief by Policy Analyst Sotiria Theodoropoulou considers the possible options for moving ahead.
