The seminar, 'Achieving gender balance - strategies for competitiveness', organised by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, explored corporate practices leading to a better work-life balance for women and men, while also contributing to enhanced competitiveness and human resource management models in European countries. The seminar was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 18-19 November 2004.
