The European Movement Ireland (EMI) is an independent, not-for-profit, membership-based organisation working to develop the connection between Ireland and Europe.

The Joint Committee on European Union Affairs met on 21 May 2013, to explore the EMI’s Accountability Report 2012, which measures input of the Irish Government in European Commission consultations, European Parliament engagement by MEPs and attendance and performance by cabinet members at European Council and Council of Ministers meetings. It also measures Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) engagement and includes a commentary on the work of the Committee, as well as the scrutiny of EU legislation by sectoral Oireachtas Committees.
