A guide to European Union funding for the voluntary sector

European union funds have increasingly become available in the last decade for activities involving many various sectors of non-governmental and non-commercial circles. This practical guide provides a comprehensive listing of European Union funding programmes that are relevant to the voluntary sector. It includes details of over 150 budget-lines and programmes, offering financial support ranging from several thousand to over a million euros. For each of the programmes, in addition to the inclusion of contact names, addresses, and web addresses, it gives a summary of the total budget allocated; description of eligibility; the areas and people that the programme is intended to benefit; whether the applicant must have partners in other European countries; the type of grant offered and a description of the projects that will be considered. The programmes are also listed by activity, target groups and area where the activity is (ie within or outside the EU) in order to make it easy to identify those which are most relevant.
