Summary: Decision 94/262/ECSC, EC, Euratom - adopted by the European Parliament on 9 March 1994 - concerning the regulations and general conditions governing the performance of the European Ombudsman's duties. Further information: This Decision establishes the conditions under which the European Ombudsman works. The European Ombudsman investigates complaints about poor administration by institutions or other bodies of the European Union (EU). These may be lodged by citizens or residents of EU Member States or by EU-based associations or businesses. The European Parliament elects the Ombudsman for a renewable 5-year term. |
