2023 European Semester Autumn Package

The European Commission launched the 2023 European Semester cycle of economic policy coordination with the publication of its Autumn Package on 22 November 2022.

The European Semester provides a framework for coordinating economic and employment policies of the Member States in the European Union (EU). The cycle of economic policy coordination is launched with an Autumn Package - this year's package draws upon the Autumn 2022 Economic Forecast, which showed a strong first half of the year but also the challenges ahead for the EU's economy.

This Package includes:

• Annual Sustainable Growth Survey;
• Communication on the 2023 Draft Budgetary Plans of euro area Member States;
• Commission's opinions on the Draft Budgetary Plans (DBPs) of euro area Member States and of Croatia;
• Commission proposal for the euro area recommendation for 2023;
• The 2023 Alert Mechanism Report;
• Proposal for a Joint Employment Report for 2023;
• Post-programme surveillance reports for Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.
