The 2015 Parlemeter surveyed more than 28,000 Europeans in autumn 2015. The results showed a majority of Europeans were in favour of more integration in the area of migration, however there were marked variations among Member States in the level of support for common asylum policies.

An increasing number of Europeans believed that immigration was a major challenge for the future of the EU. Some 68% of respondents said they were for 'a common European policy on migration', a 5-point fall compared to spring 2015. In all, 78% of Europeans supported better distribution of asylum-seekers amongst EU Member States, of which 75% think this should be decided upon in the form of 'binding quotas'. Here, there were significant divergences between Member States, with 97% of Germans in favour of better distribution compared to 31% of Slovakians, for example.
