£1.8bn EU cash for Wales

Wales has been given the green light by the European Union to receive more than £1.8bn in funding to boost enterprise and innovation. West Wales and the Valleys will receive support from the European Regional Development Fund until 2013. This will feature £856m of European funding to help Welsh businesses to become more competitive and innovative, and to tackle climate change while boosting regeneration.
