Summary:Decision (EU) 2024/1952 - adopted by the European Commission on 16 July 2024 - concerning the participation of Sweden in the enhanced cooperation on the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO). Further information:The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is an independent body of the European Union (EU) responsible for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to judgment crimes against the financial interests of the EU. It was established by Regulation (EU) 2017/1939. The European Chief Prosecutor was appointed by Decision (EU) 2019/1798 following a selection procedure. Om 5 June 2024, Sweden notified the European Commission of its intention to participate in the enhanced cooperation on the establishment of the EPPO. The legislative framework does not prescribe any particular conditions of participation in this enhanced cooperation. The Commission adopted this Decision confirming the Swedish participation in the EPPO on 16 July 2024. It was published in the Official Journal on 18 July 2024. |
