Summary:

Growth in Action is the magazine of the Competitive and Sustainable Growth programme, one of the thematic programmes of the European Union's (EU) Fifth Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP5). It presents the tangible results of research projects and other activities funded by the Growth programme.

This issue of the publication presents both a look back and a look forward as the transition is made from the Fifth to the Sixth RTD Framework Programme. Readers will find highlights from four years of leading edge research as well as information and insight into the new Framework Programme set for launch in Brussels in November 2002.
