Summary:This document presents the financial competence framework for children and youth in the European Union (EU), jointly developed by the European Commission and the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). This framework was developed in the context of the 2020 Capital Markets Union Action Plan and as part of the OECD/INFE programme of work. It follows on an earlier publication of a similar framework for adults. The framework is designed to help Member States, practitioners and other stakeholders create initiatives and programmes to improve the level of financial literacy of children and young people to enable them to take well-informed personal finance decisions. The framework is accompanied by an Excel tool that facilitates navigation and filtering of competences according to users' needs. |
