Eurogroup meeting, 16 January 2023

Summary:

A meeting of the Eurogroup was held on 16 January 2023. The agenda included the following items:

• Update on Euro cash changeover in Croatia;
• Adoption of statement summarising the views expressed in a discussion on the digital euro project and the way forward;
• Presentation by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the outcome of its interim Article IV staff visit to the Euro area;
• Exchange of views on fiscal policy focusing on energy support measures, with a presentation of case studies;
• Discussion on the Eurozone aspects of the economic governance review;
• Discussion on the draft Recommendation on the economic policy of the Euro area for 2023;
• Update on the ratification of the revised European Stability Mechanism (ESM) treaty;
• Presentation by the new Latvian government of its policy priorities.
