Summary:Regulation (EU) 2022/1670 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 29 September 2022 - introducing amendments to Regulation (EU) 2022/109 fixing the fishing opportunities for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks applicable in EU waters and for EU fishing vessels in certain non-EU waters. Further information:Council Regulation (EU) 2022/109 fixed the 2022 catch limits for the main commercial fish stocks in the Atlantic, the North Sea and international fisheries in which EU vessels participate. Following the publication of the scientific advice provided by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), the definitive total allowable catch (TAC) for anchovy in subareas 9 and 10 and in EU waters of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF) should be set for the period between 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. It also became appropriate that the European Union established a percentage subject to a special condition regarding the quotas of horse mackerel in ICES subarea 9. This Council Regulation introduces such amendments accordingly. The draft law was tabled by the European Commission on 9 September 2022. The Act was adopted by the Council of the European Union on 29 September 2022 and published in the Official Journal on the following day. |
